Ten Popular Suit Personalisation Options
Tired of seeing almost identical clothes in every shop and feeling that everyone dresses much the same? This article is for you...
Made-to-measure clothing is about more than the right cut and a shirt cuff showing beneath a jacket sleeve. When you choose a jacket, trousers or shirt, there are many details you can use to make the new piece your own. Here are ten popular personalisation choices among Cavalier customers for inspiration.

1. Laser-engraved buttons
It may not catch your eye at first, but a monogram on a button is a striking detail. The engraving can go on the edge or face of the button and suits a jacket or blazer. Choose a name, initials or even a wedding date — but be warned, it can become addictive!

2. Monogram
A monogram is a classic personal detail. You can choose from dozens of contrasting thread colours and have it embroidered on a shirt cuff, inside a jacket or even on trousers. For visible monograms, we recommend thread close to the fabric colour; hidden ones give you room to play with contrast.

3. Alcantara details
Alcantara is presented in our swatch books as an exceptionally soft yet durable material. Use it for a contrasting undercollar, sleeve patches or trim around trouser pockets.

4. AMF stitching
AMF stitching imitates hand stitching and subtly highlights the tailoring of a jacket. It can be done in a contrasting thread, but for easy styling we recommend thread that matches the fabric.

5. One or two contrasting sleeve buttonholes
A contrasting sleeve buttonhole can pick up the colour of your favourite tie or cufflinks. It can also draw attention to an unbuttoned last sleeve button. On a made-to-measure jacket, unlike many ready-to-wear jackets, the sleeve buttons can be opened.

6. A cutaway sleeve corner
This detail is especially suited to casual blazers. We sometimes pair it with contrasting lining underneath and, for bolder choices, contrasting buttonhole stitching.

7. Camouflage details
Whether used across a jacket or only on a tuxedo lapel, camouflage adds a military-inspired detail to a meeting or a ball — and a ready-made conversation starter about clothes or the armed forces.

8. Contrasting pocket trim
Contrasting pocket trim can help prevent fraying and tie your trousers in with your belt and shoes. Make it in soft Alcantara and you may never want to take your hands out of your pockets.

9. Felt undercollar, perhaps with a monogram
We want you to enjoy even the smallest details, so we can embroider a monogram where you may not expect one. Choose the felt colour for the undercollar and the thread for the embroidery. If you are a captain, you can show that off too!

10. Colour
Colour is a favourite way for those who want to stand out to personalise their clothes. People say you can guess someone's character from the colours they prefer. Imagine a street full of colour guiding you towards like-minded people.
