Nine Men’s Accessories
Accessories are key to completing your style. They have a particular magic: they are not the heart of an outfit, but the subtle detail that can turn an ordinary look into a memorable one...
Small details often make the whole look. In this article, we explore the men's accessories that can take your style further.
Jewellery — bracelets, cufflinks, lapel flowers and more
As more men experiment with style, jewellery is drawing greater interest too. Simplicity is key: choose clean shapes and discreet designs rather than pieces that draw attention to their price.
Braces
Braces were once more popular than belts. Although they became less common in the twentieth century, they have retained their appeal. Colourful styles are also returning. Button-on braces, fastened inside the trousers, tend to look more refined than clip-on versions. Wearing braces and a belt together is a style misstep best avoided.

Watches
For men, watches can be what shoes are for women: a reflection of personality and taste. An inexpensive watch may leave the wrong impression, while showing off a luxury watch can seem arrogant. Balance and discretion are the key.
Hat
Hats are less common today, but they can still be an elegant choice. The structure and stiffness of a hat help determine how formal it looks and where it fits best.

Umbrella
An umbrella is practical, but it can also complement an outfit. Once mocked when it appeared in the eighteenth century, it has become a familiar gentleman's accessory.
Note: black is the only acceptable colour for an umbrella canopy. Despite the choice of patterns, black remains the best option.
Handkerchiefs
Paper tissues are practical, but a cloth handkerchief can be a useful addition to your outfit. Keep one in a trouser pocket for everyday use; a separate pocket square in the breast pocket adds a decorative touch of colour.

Gloves
Gloves were once part of a gentleman's everyday wardrobe. Today they mainly protect against the cold. Leather gloves, ideally lined with cashmere, are a classic choice.
Belt
Whether you favour classic elegance or modern style, accessories can take your look further. It is a subtle game in which less can often mean more. Carefully chosen, high-quality accessories can make an ordinary man look like a true gentleman. Your belt, like your shoes, should be leather and coordinate with them in colour. Scarf
A scarf is more than cold-weather protection. It can also be worn as an accessory in warmer months. There is plenty of choice in colours and patterns, but the principle remains: less is more.
